I'm back, after what has seemed like forever!! I've had no Internet connection because we couldn't top up the dongle, but after numerous tries it finally worked!! :-)
I've been wanting to blog my latest buys for ages now, so hopefully they'll be worth the wait! I went to Malvern Antiques Fair 2 weeks ago on Sunday to work the stall with my parents, despite the rain I had a really nice day, I wish I'd took my camera though because some of the stalls looked lovely, like they'd come straight from a Parisian flea market!
Here's my buys...
"Mabel" German 1930's doll - £1
I don't know why but she just looks like a Mabel, and I couldn't resist her,
she was alone amongst a load of tat on a £1 table and I quickly got my purse out!
1950's "Codeg" toy till - £5
My Mom bought me this one, and it is sooo cute! Plus it came with
it's original metal toy money, and it matches Mabel haha!

I love anything to do with sewing so when I came along this lot for 50p each
I bought it all! My faves are the magazines, these tend to get on average
about £4 each on eBay so I got myself a good bargain!
Vintage Tapestry evening bag - £5
Tapestry bags seem to be everywhere recently and I managed to get the
"real deal" for much less than it would cost for a new copy from the high street.
I'm unsure about the age, my Mom guesses maybe 1920's, it's silk lined
and almost pristine inside, plus how lovely is that clasp??
Hobbies Handbook (1953) - £2
1930's Birthday Cards - 50p each
I love the picture on the front of this book and the pictures inside, they'll
make great fabric transfers! Plus I can't resist vintage cards so I've managed to
acquire yet more to add to my collection :-)
Vintage Advertisement - £7
This was my Mom's buy that I spotted, she's yet to find a place for it though!
It's an advertising board for "Golf Harmony" sometime in it's life it's been cut down
at the side or it may have been made up of two halves for a billboard or shop display.
On the following Saturday my parent's worked their usual Leek Antique Market and as per my Mom bought me back two lovely things :-)
50's Honeycomb Wool Holder - £1
I love this! Also I loved it even more when I saw one exactly the same
sell for £17 on eBay! But this one's for keeps :-)
Small Vintage Doll - £1
This is a friend for Mabel, I haven't got a name
for her yet so feel free to suggest one :-)
Then on Sunday I helped my Parent's out at our usual Lichfield car boot! Well I say "help out" - it's just an excuse to go shopping ;-)
And boy did I come across an amazing find!
A bag of vintage Anchor embroidery threads - 50p!!!!
This bag of threads was just dumped on the floor among some books and
sheets, but my eagle eye spotted them! I asked the woman and she said 50p at
first I thought she meant each (seen as Anchor threads in my local sewing shop
are about 80p) and then she said for the whole bag. I couldn't get my money out
quick enough! Then seen as I was bored in the van at the car boot I decided to
count them; 163 full threads and 37 loose/used threads! So now I have enough
embroidery threads to last me a lifetime, so I 'spose I oughta get stitching!
Vintage Plastic Musical Ornament - £1
I thought this was cute plus they look almost Hummel-like. It plays
"Rain drops keep falling on my head" which was very fitting of that day!
1950's Musical Toy - Free
My Dad bought a box of these from his friend who had got them from an old shop
and one magically made it into my craft room ;-) I just love the the illustrations.
And now for the final buy...
50's/60's Wooden Dolls House -£5
I thought this was really rather cheap for a dolls house! Plus it is rather
cute (I love the little opening garage!) It's not great inside but I'm going to
do it up a bit and make it look pretty. Plus it came with all that furniture
which is worth way more than a fiver!
So all in all I've got some good buys :-)
It's safe to say I won't be spending any more money for a while though, ha!
