Rule Britannia! Britannia rules the waves...

I used to be somewhat addicted to buying magazines. It got to a point where
I was buying up to 4 mags a week. They were totally unnecessary but to be
fair they did help to beat my "mid-week blues" at College. But the
only mag that I ever actually read every page of was Company
and now it's the only magazine I ever buy!

Plus some of you may remember I blogged about Company back in January

If you've never read it I really suggest you do, it has everything from
Fashion to Homes, Real Life to Crafts...

Plus it occasionally has it's fair share of Georgey Lamb ;-)

The October issue was "The British Issue" and it really inspired
me to get making all things Britannia!

Union Jack and Vintage Stamp Brooch

Union Jack Felt Owl Keyring (which really didn't want to be photographed!)

Right then, I'm off down the shops to get this months Company Mag!

Let me know what you think of my latest makes :-)

  1. Incredible makes, Laura! You are clever.
I'm not much of a magazine reader, but do love Living Etc every so often. xxx

  2. I love the broach Laura, it's fab! I haven't bought Company in years, perhaps I should take a look...

  3. Ahh, good ol' Google. I have the same picture for my profile!

I agree about Company, although I don't often buy magazines. Shame I missed out on that issue.

  4. I used to love magazines, borderline obsessive. I never could have enough of them.
Elle Girl was my favourite ever, but then it became discontinued, which after that seemed to put a little downer on things.
Whilst I was at college, I used to buy a lot of magazines from a market stall every Tuesday for £1.00 each. They’d be like last months issues, totally worth it, Vogue’s, Elle’s, Cosmo’s everything. They were great for cutting up and using in my collages and I didn’t feel as guilty spending money on them.

Now I’m still partial to a good magazine freebie or a Sunday supplement, but don’t break my neck to get hold of them like I used to.

Your new creations are lovely. My favourite is the jubilee brooch, and I admire your skills with those union jacks. In one of my a level textile projects, I (attempted) a union jack and it all got a little confusing with all the diagonal lines and didn’t turn out the way I wanted! xx

Here she is chilling with the 'hanging' with egg cups on the mug tree :)
